Ferring church

Welcome to Danish Kin-- a site dedicated to answering questions about finding your ancestors in Denmark. The information here has been written and assembled by the members of the Denmark Rootsweb list, a friendly, knowledgable community lovingly dedicated to helping people find their Danish roots and understand their Danish heritage. Much of the information came from specific discussions at the list over the years.

These two pages "Danish Naming Traditions" and "Essential Databases", give you some of the basics that everyone needs to know for Danish research. If you're totally new to Danish research, you should start with them.

You can use this site without joining the Rootsweb list, but you'd be missing out on the excellent personal help that you can receive from experienced members of the Denmark list. To subscribe to the Denmark List, send a message to DENMARK-request@rootsweb.com that contains (in the body of the message) the command "subscribe" (without the quotes) and no additional text.
